Just trying to understand this concept and thought I would ask....

An engine may be advertised as having, for example 120HP, but that HP is only made at a certain RPM.

But depending on the prop that is installed the advertised HP may never be reached because the prop cannot spin a the top RPM level...is that correct?

What is it that prevents a prop from getting to the highest RPM?

Thanks for helping me figure this out.
