In PA today a pilot of an S-12 Rans was attempting to take off with a passenger when the aircraft refused to climb. Pilot stayed in ground effect trying to build speed. He stayed in ground effect until he ran out of runway and opted to attempt a turn into the wind. An eyewitness reported the turn was attempted at approximately 60' AGL and the plane immediately stalled into the ground. Both pilot and passenger were shook up, scuffed and bruised but walked away. The pilot had been reporting an inability to climb effectively in the HKS powered S-12.

Hey Guys, one more example of why a go/no go point is so important. And if it aint right then don’t fly it......
