Would a stack of Belleville washers work as a shock/spring for a nose gear?

From what I have been reading the response can be customized by how they are stacked---either facing the same way or alternating, or some combination of the two.

What I was thinking is a stack of them threaded on to the nose gear strut, with a bushing or flange on the bottom to keep them in place, and a plate on the bottom of the fuselage. Maybe also some nylon as a bearing surface.

Would they hold up under this kind of application, or are they intended only for static loads?
