Why not Consortium-Group built small aircraft?

December 28, 2020 [email protected] Tampa 813-784-4669

Why does AirBus and Boeing for example use as many as 45 companies building their main components -- the fuselage, engine, airframe, bulkhead and tires…

Why should a group of builders - form a Consortium to group build in a similar way small single and two seat aircraft?

The purpose of this email is to invite your comments and participation in exploring the development of a First?: A group build consortium to design-develop-modify this project:

The basic Benoist - Mariner like biplane amphibian - to group build a number of the

“ Baby Benoist “ aircraft.

This Benoist is a full scale art-in the park model of the original Benoist - the world first schedule airline aircraft.

The dedication to take place on Saturday February 6, 2021 at 10 am in the St. Pete city waterfront park. Photos provided by request

The above is the Mariner aircraft - our aircraft will have an 100-150hp electric motor

Some of the planned design and operational changes not limited to:

1. Design and Engineering group - see design change

2. Fuselage Group - nose section to look more like the Benoist include baggage, fish locker...

3. Empennage Group - changed to look like the Benoist*

4. Wings Group - Pivot and Fold back wings for trailing and storage, install a Parachute

5. Engine Group -100+ HP - Epowered - Propeller - Motor - Controller, Batteries and Cockpit Controls

6. Landing Gear Group - wider gear space for towing, larger tires for soft fields, sand and beaching ...possible PBY system

7. Cockpit - Seats..., Provisions for a Canopy Radios - IPad instrument panel, radios

Establishing a consortium - with a group build agreement and prospectus - with a legal “ bullet proof “ contract is the first task and will take time; meanwhile interested members can start working on the designs, jigs and pricing the component parts for the aircraft assemblies for this first group build aircraft project.

Group Building should

shorten build-to-fly time

make safer aircraft

benefit from the creativity of the member designer builders

reduce costs

save material

improve design

save money

save time

improve design

improve safety…

Once the most effective Group Consortium Agreement is drafted and approved it will protect each member ownership rights to an aircraft:

  1. Insure the legal ownership of the builders who join the consortium
  2. All builder jigs would be held in a common consortium ownership
  3. Other__________________________________________?

I hope you will share this proposal with others they may want to join this Group-Build Consortium or start their own ...

There is so much talent, expertise, equipment, skills and knowhow that we can not go wrong.
