Really wanted to build a Kolb Ultrastar, but after realizing it would perform poorly in my area, I pretty much abandoned that idea. (Unfortunately!)

I'd like to build or buy a ultralight with the following characteristics:

  • Able to fly during the majority of the year, given my environmental conditions: Airstrip @ 5,000 ft MSL, Temp ranges from 30*F (Dead of winter) to 110*F. (Usually 90* - 110* for the summer/fall.)
  • Able to be trailered.
  • Would like as short a takeoff/landing roll as possible, and with a extra 50lbs useful load than me and fluids. (I'd like to take it camping in various spots around the desert here.)
  • As low cost as possible.
I would prefer a pusher, high wing, aluminum tube and fabric construction.

Any recommendations?
