The FAA, in a recent press release, has stated that it will not allow any overflights of US airspace next week, from flights originating from the north pole.
Sighting the regulations prohibiting supersonic flight over the continental USA, the FAA also stated that Rudolph's nose was not an approved IFR anti collision strobe.
In a recorded telephone interview, Kris Kringle said of the flight ban "I've been flying since before the Wrights were even born. Shouldn't I be grandfathered?"

Considering how slow FAA rule making is, it is not surprising that Kris Kringle's appeal from 4 years ago is still on the table!
