Hi, I'm a total nube and just fishing for ideas on a future hobby/direction.

I'm exploring the idea of low-cost adaptation of bush plane concepts to personal island-hopping. The typical load would be two passengers (300 lbs total) and three crated dogs or some dive gear (<250 lbs). The max range required would be 1200 km.

I would not be planning to do any water landings. Runways could be as short as 2300 feet (water at both ends).

Does anybody have a suggestion -- anything from a particular model of used production aircraft to a novel modern home-built? I'm very much at the fantasy stage at this point.
