I have a Great Planes engine on which I would like to put a geared PSRU.
Need to reduce the prop speed with about 1.5:1 to 1.6:1. I have the tooling to do the job.
Where can one get the correct gears or gearboxes. Looking for helical 4” and 2.5” gears, about 1”wide at the driving edges.
The reduction rate of Rotax and other gearboxes, for high rpm motors, are too much for my application. (2.2:1 and more) Some, who have the correct gear ratio are rated at 250hp and up while my engine is rated at only 85hp. Therefore an overkill and far too heavy.:depressed:depressed
