In order to know the centroid of mass of a wing you have to know the centroid of the airfoils used.

I have been working on a spreadsheet to calculate this. So far it appears that the centroid of an airfoil is pretty much in the center, chord wise, with the vertical location depending on the camber.

Has anyone else looked at this? I would expect different airfoils to have different centroids, so is " the middle" just an artifact of the airfoil I am using for my test cases?

What I am trying to do is come up with a way to estimate where the center of mass of a wing will be without a detailed design.
