Is there such a thing as "too much power"? We are looking at several engines which include V6's and a V8. The V8 weighs about 75 pounds more than the V6 and puts out 100 more hp. This V8 is powering Supermarine's Spitfire in Cisco, Texas. It is a thing of beauty and has the best PSRU I have ever seen.

If the V8 will physically fit, and the weight can be worked out, is there a reason not to go with the bigger engine? Some people have suggested that it is way too much power for the airframe. As long as the aircraft limitations are observed (Vne, weight, CG, etc.) from an engineering viewpoint how could you have too much power?
