Ok, I have another question for y'all...

Current target is a FFP Dakota Hawk.

I've been checking out spruce from Aircraft Spruce and the wood is reasonably priced, I guess, but the shipping is ridiculous!

I noticed that the local Home Depot (and Lowe's Home Improvement) have what they call spruce, but is it the same stuff?

Basically, if I make sure I personally grade the lumber myself (now I can't find the grading document I was looking at a week ago!), can I source the wood from the local big box stores?

TIA
