Has anybody thought about a car rooftop device to test the ideal flap configuration (variables: channel airstream smoothness, lower gap, upper gap, extension, deflection, flap hinge down displacement....)?
I have spend a lot of time grumbling aboout such a device but would appreciate some ideas.
How high should be the wing section hang over the rooftop to be out of the car interference flow?
What would you measure and how (drag, lift, pitch, lift/pitch ratio....)?
How would you build it?
Two plates with a originally sized wing section inbetween and the flap is variably screwed against the side plates.
How would you place the measuring devices?
The testing should be at the planed stall speed?
