Greetings!

Just stumbled across the site after following a link from supercub.org. Looks like I now have something else to distract me during the workday. My background- I have a 1940 J3F-50 that I just finished a 2 year, ground up restoration on last year. It's powered by a Don's Dream Machines Continental C-85/0-200 Stroker- It's a blast to fly and a really sweet bird. I solo'd in the airplane 5 years back so it is a special ship to me that will remain in the family for generations.

I'm plotting my next project, which right now looks like it will be a light weight PA-11 or SuperCub with all wood wings, a light fuse, and a hopped up 0-200. Something with a little more room to go camping with than the J-3 and a bit more fuel. (12 gallons in the J--3 means a lot of stops!) I've been practicing my gas welding for a while now with my Harris model 15 torch on every piece of scrap 4130 I can get my hands on- I've finally had that 'ah-ha' moment where my welds are strong and starting to look nice. I'm going to keep practicing weekly until I beg

in the fuse! I'm helping restore a '46 J-3 now and once it is finished this summer, it's game on for the next bird!

Here are a couple of pics of my J-3!
