Yea, this one pops up every now and then but outside of just being weird, it's not real nor was anything like this ever attempted, even in concept. But yes, it looks very "Russian".
It was attempted in the 1930s, in the USSR. It was the Kalinin K-7, and first flew in 1933.
I think Orion is talking about the (very cool) version with the dual engines pods and the huge guns on the roof
Thanks for the clarification and yes, that is what I was referring to. The K-7 was a beast in of itself though and is certainly noteworthy despite its rather sizable ugly coefficient. But yes, it was very Russian.

The aircraft shown in the rendered drawings look like they're carrying an apartment building. Were they considering renting out office space? If so, I would be interested in one of the wing leading edge offices
