Dear reader,

As you can read in my introduction, and as you might expect from me being here, I like airplanes and design.
Most of all I like to start with very rough concepts and gradually find out that it doesn't work. I'm new to airplane design, I'm not new to airplanes.

Since I live in Holland it will be very difficult to actually build an airplane, lots of regulations, it's almost discouraging... Although I'm having a hard time even finding out where to start on the regulations , I have found some EASA regulations that make a lot of sense. But I'm not sure what rules apply here, and if it's possible to get around some of those by registering abroad.

But then again, this is more of a design exercise for me, as I want to learn some new skills, maybe get my old math books of the shelf (calculus, yuck :gig:). But if I'm going to design something I might as well design according to some rules and regulations. Can't see the point in designing something if I couldn't eventually use my design. So that's probably the first area to focus on.

Now I made this concept sketch couple of weeks ago,

(as seen before in my introduction)

I really like double tail-boom design's. I still remember I had a model of a P38 when I was like 6, at that age I was absolutely amazed that something so unconventional was built...

In designing, I like to keep this concept in mind. I don't think I can make any plane lighter than I am as I'm just over 60kg's. Very light... But I'm planning on going light and strong. At some point I might find out that I do want to have two seats instead of a single seat, but at this point I don't think anyone will want to fly with me, so I'd better design a single seat version.

That's about the introduction to this project. I hope I learn a lot of new skills doing this. I might get a few questions in here... Hope that's ok ?
