Hi,
Anyone have any idea how to calculate (estimate?) the drag of the fuselage? There are a number of programs easily downloaded from the web which will tell you exactly how much drag will be produced by a wing, but when it comes to calculating the - what do they call it - effective flate plate area? of the rest of the fuselage, I seem to have drawn a blank.
Obviously the drag figure will depend on all sorts of smaller things, like interference between fuse and wing, drag caused by struts, cooling drag and so on. But how does one even start estimating the drag of this relatively massive body as it thrusts intself though the air?
