How have you guys spec'ed your brake systems? From the sources I've looked at, it doesn't seem like there's a strong regulatory stance on this. Instead, it seems to be more of an expectation to pair the airplane capabilities with the task at hand. I.e., don't land a Cessna Citation on a 2000' dirt runway and don't land a hang-glider at Chicago O'Hare.
In this context, the lack of regulation makes perfect sense. Planes are intended to be flown within their operating envelope, and it is the pilot's job to ensure that this is respected at all times. However, that doesn't mean that we want anything less than the most effective brakes we can have. Just that there's no requirement for the designer to make bad flight tradeoffs in order to shorten the landing roll-out.
Thoughts? Experiences? @BoKu, how did you design your HP-24 brakes?
