Glasair airspeed

I have just completed a glasair 3 with lyc 0540 and mt9 prop, our airspeed seems slower than the recomended speeds from glasair. Does anyone have any experience with the speeds of this aircraft and the publishe speed, they seem a long way off . Ours does about 200 knots and but can't see it doing 235 knts
have checked pito and static seems ok
any help would be appreciated
