    I've noticed recently that there have been a lot of long dead threads popping up here on HBA.

    Now I know why. This comment by SVSUSteve in another thread:
    HBA has been infected by the Zombie virus!!!;)

    They must be slow zombies because, as we all know, there's no such thing as fast zombies.

    Notice the ";)"? I meant it as a joke.

    There is nothing wrong with reviving an old thread. I guess it is better than having 100 threads on the same topic, like has happened with flying wings. But sometimes someone responds to a thread that is ancient, expecting an answer. IMHO, it is courteous to say that you know it is an old thread but you would like to ask a question about it. Or that you have new relevant information on the topic.
