Just curious, folks, so don't jump all over me for asking...
It seems that the 'worst' joints in furniture are the prefered ones for wood airplanes. Namely butt joints and lap joints.
Why aren't mortise and tenon, and dovetail, joints used in aircraft? Except maybe being harder to make, they are considered the stronger of the furniture joints.
