Note that the 912 / 914 series currently is the best selling aircraft piston engine in the world, with over 50,000 sold since their introduction. Many of them are in the USA. Most of them are on LSAs and AirCams.

There is a bunch in the US we think. Not compared to the rest of the world. Here is a breakdown of US pilots license from the FAA https://www.faa.gov/data_research/aviation_data_statistics/civil_airmen_statistics/media/2019-civil-airmen-stats.xlsx
Airplanes to fly has to correlate at some level.

At one time I had found something similar for EASA. It was inverse of the US. Around 6000 LSA pilot licenses vs 160,000 privates in US. The European was all gliders and LSA and about 3000-4000 private pilots per country.

According to the FAA registration database, there are 4,848 Rotax 912/914 engined aircraft currently registered in the US. No idea what the certified vs. kit vs. plans built breakdown is.
