Hi folks. I have the J3 kitten with the ultralight non-certified fabric, painted with marine topside paint. Right now, its stored in the garage. Trailering it to the airstrip isn't a problem, but setting up for flying takes more than an hour ... and then another hour to dismantle and load on the trailer again.
I'm thinking of making a set of dacron covers for the plane (to cover the wings, fuselage, and tail feathers) and then keeping the plane at the tie-down area of the airstrip all season. Every now and then, we get a summer thunderstorm with high winds ... like 30+mph.
Do you think it would be safe to leave an ultralight tied down? Any other advice on this?
Thanks!
