I'm soliciting feedback on my idea about having a two piece canopy like that of the Trojan in the picture. The reason is that I want the guy in back to be able to ride in an open cockpit without disturbing the pilot in front. I also want either occupant to be able to crack open his section for ventilation.
Both pieces are on the same track, therefore they cannot telescope.
There are at least two issues that I've identified.
1. Because my seats are only 31.5" apart so there isn't enough travel to be able to have both cockpits fully open simultaneously. What must happen is that the aft section can slide aft to the point where its bow frame reaches the end of the roller track located at about the rear seat back. The forward section is then free to roll fore and aft to allow full access to each cockpit station, but not both at the same time. Does anybody see this a big problem?
2. I must be able to control and lock/unlock both sections as a single piece from the front seat. The rear seater must be able to lock/unlock the aft section.
