On something like the MiniMax series, where do the landing gear forces go during a hard landing? Into the wing spar? Is this really a problem, considering the good reputation these have.

There is a hinge at the attachment to the fuselage, so they must expect some flexing at that point.

Now, on the high wing version, the struts attach to the bottom edge of the fuselage. I would feel more comfortable that a less than perfect landing would not crack the spars
