Hey guys, So I know nothing about the stress analysis process and want to know how it works. If I were to say, build an airplane out of paint stir sticks from menards and toothpicks. would it cost to get a stress analysis done?

A guy like miloholand that designed his legal eagle with the LP1 airfoil.. the story I was told is it means he used a lead pencil and just drew what he thought the airfoil should look like and put the tubes where he thought they should go... What is the process for a guy like that? build it then get the stress test done, then make the needed changes to the airframe? If I just do my best to throw something together whats it going to cost to get the testing done. I am familiar with the wing loading tests with sand bags, but what do most of you do?
