The recent discussion of the Blackfly and the LSA weight change brought this thought to mind.
Under part 103 you can essentially do whatever you want, so long as it weighs 254 pounds or less, stall speed, one seat, max speed, etc, etc, etc. You can have multiple engines and/or multiple props. A kite with a lawn mower and lawn chair. A hummel ultracruiser. All electric, even. I even remember reading about someone that put a micro jet on an ultralight.
But when it comes to LSA...One prop and one IC engine.
