So the Falcon I am considering getting has a Rotax 503 in it. Falcons instruction booklet states the Rotax 503 should take "50:1 Regular 86 octane, B.I.A. or T.C.A spec oil".
Keeping in mind the Falcon was designed in the 80's before ethanol was widely used in fuel. That mixed with the fact that 86 octane is hard to find, and the fact I have no idea what "B.I.A. or T.C.A. spec oil" actually is, I thought I would ask the question on here as to what I can use.
Can I use 87 octane (which probably has the standard 10% ethanol content) and mix it with oil? If so what oil? If not, what should I use?
I just spoke with someone who used 100LL aviation fuel in a Rotax 503, and he said it did a number on the spark plugs (not good).
