I am working on my Murphy Rebel over the winter and have discovered some smoking rivets. This after 27 years and about 1000 flight hours, all of it on floats.
The rivets in question are 1/8" Avex blind rivets and are loaded in shear. Apparently AVEX rivets are not readily available any more. I am considering Cherrymax rivets as a replacement and will probably go with their 1/64" oversize rivet. Any thoughts about using Cherrymax in place of Avex? All comments are welcome.
