This is from "How to Build the Super Parasol", from a circa 1930 magazine. Unfortunately, the pages do not contain the date or even magazine title. The link is for part 1 of 3 parts. If you are interested just google the title, specifying 'PDF'.

It is an interesting design, that could easily be replicated with more modern materials, however.....

Look carefully at the snip above. Yes, it actually says to use roofing nails as rivets!:shock:
