Hi Aircraft Guys,
An odd question perhaps, but let's take a simple aircraft as an example. The mighty Cessna 150. If the aircraft is loaded and balanced properly, what sort of tail forces are generated in steady level flight, all nicely trimmed ? I mean, how many pounds of force downward would the H-Stab and elevator be applying to the whole system ? Roughly, of course. My best guess, at that long of a lever arm, would be in the 50-100 pound range, but that's a real rookie guestimate.
Thanks, Tom.
