My open cockpit airplane is giving me trouble hearing the radio. Its non-electrical so I am using a handheld radio. It's a VERY loud airplane. I've got an ANR headset with my Sky Cowboys helmet. Would an intercom boost my volume? How can I make it so I can actually hear the radio? Right now I've got the radio running through an antenna mounted on the airframe. I can hear the radio on the ground at idle but not when the power comes in and I'm flying.
