I'm looking at an ultralight Airbike that was converted some years ago to ELSA, complete with "N" number and airworthiness certificate. The owner said his only reason for the conversion was to give him the ability to properly log and build his time. He did admit that getting an annual on the aircraft was very difficult. He also thought that returning to the 5-gallon gas tank would allow the Airbike to return to its original ultralight status.
I can find no information anywhere that addresses the conversion of an aircraft with an airworthiness certificate to its original humble beginnings as an ultralight. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.
