Hi!
A friend told me about someone who swapped the original batteries of his electric old car, to different car batteries from a modern electric crashed car. It seems hat the paperwork was easy because the batteries were already certified for road use, even though it was not the same car model.
This made me wonder about the feasability of using car batteries for an electric propulsion system, I do not know if someone has tried it before?
Probably it would more easy to get the approval from the aviation authorities, if you use "car certified batteries" rather than DIY ones for a homebuilt.
There is a local paramotor engines manufacturer who sells batteries made out of standard rechargeable 18650 cells. I do not know if he welds the batteries together, like in electric bicycles, or if those are plugged without welding?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
