I recently read somewhere that most of the wear on an engine occurs while starting and in the first several seconds of running due to lack of lubrication. Another comment was the worst thing you could do to your engine is to start it.

This made me wonder if an electric oil pump and some valves could provide enough oil, before starting the engine, to reduce this wear . Could save quite a bit of money on rebuilds and engine lifetime.
