Hi all,
I have done a fair amount of new build and repair of composites. I have recently picked up a Quickie (Q1) that has been outside for 30 plus years in Minnesota. Ordinarily I would just look to use some parts and start over, however the plane was built by a para confined to a wheelchair! I am compelled to complete what he very nearly completed and flew. Anyway, back to the topic, how do you begin? Information on repair of sun damage, water and age is almost nonexistent Most of the structure appears still protected by white paint and solid. But areas of bare glass will obviously need repair, even replacing some foam core. I may do a load test first on the canard and wing.
Over to the experts.
Regards,
Lex
P.S. In need of Canopy and prop. Will be at Oshkosh all week.
