Hi,
Just in case anyone is interested, a fully equipped ready-to-fly BMW K75 engine weighs 185lbs. This includes the following:

  • The motor itself, with oil
  • Exhausts (3-into-one headers)
  • Wiring
  • CPU
  • Rotax C-type gearbox with oil
  • Air cleaner
I had been working on the assumption of a bare engine weight of 161lbs (got this off the Internet somewhere), 12lbs for the Rotax C-type gearbox, 8lbs for the exhaust, and 3lbs for oil. So I was pretty close to the mark...

So - at 75hp (max), I'm expecting to cruise at 145kts, Max 160kts, and climb at 2350fpm at seal level. Whoo boy...

Regards,
Duncan
