Can someone who knows a bit about commercial aluminum honeycomb production techniques talk about the process a little?
My impression is that for non-compound curves (even with relatively low radii), it's possible to create honeycomb construction surfaces that are nearly perfect. What's the procedure for this? Female mold + heat + pressure? What curvatures are achievable? How do tooling costs compare to molded composites? What material thicknesses (skin and core) are workable?
