Hello folks.
I have a question regarding the aluminum vs steel tube for the elevator push tubes. I have a challenger 2 and a push tubes for the elevator are made of 1/2" aluminum 0.035 wall 6061T6 . The tube I currently got is somewhat flexible and don't seem to be rigid enough. I want to replace it with 4130 steel tube. The question is, would it be safe to do so(buckling, vibration resistance, etc). The length of the push rods is 36" (+/-) and the thickness of original tube is 1/2" x0.035" wall. I want to replace it with 4130 1/2" diameter x0.035 wall. What's your thoughts?
Thank you.
