material to use for construction blocks if you want to use them more than just for one plane. I've heard a lot of love for MDF. I'm an architect by trade, and I've had my share of experience with wood materials such as pressboard, MDF, different grades of plywood, etc. Hands-on experience. The thing that bothers me about MDF is that it is so tender on the edges compared to "whole grain" wood. Obviously I'm not about to use oak or anything that expensive, but is MDF the best compromise out there?
