I just bought a Vertex VXA300 pilot III handheld. I went with this radio for one reason because it comes with a headset adapter. The Icom radios don't, its a separate item. I've now read that a push to talk switch is needed before the headset will work in this radio. Is this true? Why would I not just use the push to talk switch that's on the radio now?
