  • I noted your interest and comment about my project. I enjoyed looking over your albums; was especially interested in the Hiper Bipe and the hangar door project. Perhaps I will get better at posting on Homebuilt Airplanes; it certainly is and has been for me an interesting and useful forum. Mark W
    Hi Mr Fisher!
I remember you mentioning somewhere about your avatar. I would like to travel around the world in an airplane I myself built(will build). Do you have more pictures of your airplane?
    Is she still alive?
    Hi Joe,
I just found your message from a few weeks ago. I figured out there was a "PM" section but I didn't figure out the "Visitor Message" stuff until now. This forum is laid out a little different than I'm used to;)

Hi Joe, thanks for the tip. I usually try to clamp another piece of scrap metal behind whatever I'm drilling through for large holes but unfortunately I couldn't reach into that area to put anything behind it! It turned out OK though, I just put the drill on real slow and had the clutch set low as well so it would slip if it binded. Worked out well. Had I known in advance a hole was a good idea in that area I would have made it before everything was assembled! I think Zen should have made more access panels standard, but then I guess they figure guys will put them wherever they need them... LOL! Cheers. Mark
    Joe,
I saw your Interstate recover pictures and it got my interest because I just purchased a L-6 and will be recovering and repainting the tubing this winter. Any tips specific to the interstate? I am trying to estimate how much fabric it'll take to do the recover now.
    Thanks,
    -Brian
Are you Joe Fisher from Galesburg, Kansas? Well I got a couple of your cds on recovering. I wish there was some narration on them also.
    Hi Joe,
Can you please tell me how to get the wings off an Emeraude? - do you need to build a special jig to transport them?
    Thanks,
    Steve
I WAS FLYING IN CALIFORNIA IN A PA 161 CHEROKEE PIPER . I LANDED IN BAKERSFIELD . THE PLANE ALT QUIT, I HAD TO GET JUMPED TO TAKE OFF . I RELUCTANT TO USE THE FANS BECAUSE OF THE ALT. BUT AS FATE WOULD HAVE IT I HAD TO WAIT IN LINE OF 5 LEAR JETS IN FRONT OF ME . THEIR HOT EXHUST BLOWING ALL OVER MY PLANE. BY THE TIME I GOT CLEARANCE I WAS SWEATING SO BAD THAT I COULD NOT SEE. THE PLANE WAS ROLLING FROM SIDE TO SIDE OF THE LARGE RUN WAY . I THOUGHT THE TOWER WAS GOING TO SIGHT ME FOR BEING DRUNK. BUT I FINALLY WAS IN THE AIR . THE VENTS STARED POURING IN SWEET COOL AIR . WHAT A RELIEF! MARC LAWYER
