After seeing a series on Indonesian flying, I revised my opinion of having my own runway in the Smokys.
I have some steep wooded land there. A long flattish runway isn't feasible, but a short sloping one is. I've asked my calculator and it really, really likes the idea of a sloped runway. Especially with flat bits at the top and bottom.
But I'm kinda low on flying hours, so, seasoned flyers, are sloping runways particularly hard to land on? Is there a certain grade above which things get tricky? I am probably not crazy enough to start flying anywhere but a flat airfield, btw...
