Not looking for designing the optimal prop profile - just wondering if there is a rough rule of thumb for a given power output and the "typical" tractor propeller? I've heard of 2.5 lbs per HP... Anyone have a better guess?

This number in needed by a freind of mine at work who is calculating the requirements for a thrust bearing on my direct drive V8 experiment. Apparently, the automotive axle shaft bearing is not going to be very happy in this application, but we need better info to calculate worst case.
