As was previously discussed I have decided to move forward with the single tube major structure of the fuselage/pod. This is a departure from the original design. It has some advantages as regard weight and complexity. I still plan to have an aerodynamic enclosure but now I am not limited to a flat wrap because I plan on it being totally fabric and or thin clear plastic for the windshield/windows etc.
Shown are two possible designs for the shape of the Pod. One models the shape of the original Carbon Dragon (design 2 blue) and the other is looking like modern plastic gliders (design 1 red). I think design 1 red, is better looking but it is bigger. I doubt the extra size will be a problem weight and balance wise as the major structure does not change and it is only very light frames and fabric. Without a wind tunnel or other analysis it is not possible to exactly tell which is better aerodynamically or if it will make a significant difference with a 19 mph stall glider.
I submit to the list for comments as to which they think is better.
