Have you guys seen the prices on Pitot Tubes? Holy Crap!
So, that got me thinking, and looking. There is this nearly bombproof aluminum blade attached to the bottom of the wing of every Cherokee made, with a couple heating elements, as static port, a dynamic port, and is attached with three screws.
Has anyone used one on their airplane? How do they work on fiberglass birds? Anybody gotten one from a boneyard?
Failing that, it looks like I could duplicate one pretty easily from some 6061 flat stock, right down to the base and blade shape, electric elements, and mounts. Any thoughts on that?
