I am installing an O-235 in my airplane. The engine is a C1B but I got my hands on an L2C Accessory case as it was setup with the mechanical fuel pump and oil filter setup I need / want. From what I have read there are plenty of o-235 installations that do not use oil coolers and I do not anticipate my set up is going to to run hot. For the time being I want to install the engine sans oil cooler (tell me if I'm crazy) and if I find it is running on the hot side (probably won't find out until summer comes around), I'll install one. Question is can I just plug the taps or do I need to run a hose connecting them together so the oil just flows through? Thanks
