Hi I have been working on a Ultralight design heavily inspired by the Sky Pup. I am not planning on building from someone else's plans even though it would probably be the wiser decision. The mission of the craft is to fly slowly on smallish (20) Hp, just flying on calm nights.
The plan is to make the airframe out of primarily Poplar.
The wings will be made of foam ribs with wood cap strips and a full wooden spar, the design is cantilevered. The wing will have a planform of a 32ft span, and 5ft chord giving a wing area of 160ft the stall speed is estimated to be 21kn.
It is not in the original design but it should be easy to add a enclosed cabin to the craft later.
I don't have a rough sketch for wings yet, but am I on the right track with this design or is this foolish ,and what are your thoughts?
PS: I am planning on making a cad model soon but I'm still learning how to use such programs.
