I've been doing some contemplating recently. We own a Cessna 150 presently. when it comes down to it, we are really quite restricted in it's usage. We have to keep it at an airport. if we decide to go anyplace, when we get there we need to find some sort of ground transportation. Plus, we are very limited in the extra weight we can carry on extended trips. You all know the story.
Well, what about an experimental with folding wings that can be put in an trailer? We would no longer require a hanger at the airport. We could still travel by air if we choose. But, we could also hook on to the trailer, drive to a nice destination, and then just use the airplane for local sightseeing. Best of two worlds it appears to me.
Now, is this just a pipe dream or is it actually feasable? Does anybody here have experience doing this sort of thing? How about some good suggestions for a two place aircraft with folding wings with approximately 500 pounds useful load? Thoughts? Ideas?
