So me and my friend are planning on building an Ultralight, AND, we're only 13. So we are on a budget.
We are planning on covering our Ultralight in Dacron, but we need some info about it first. We're planning on using the Uncertified type, because it is cheeper, and we are not required to have it certified.
Questions:
1. Is it ok to use the Uncertified Dacron, and if so, what should I be looking out for when applying it to the aircraft (Ex. Defects, loose threads, etc.)
2. What weight should we use? We want to have the lightest possible.
3. Are we able to paint Dacron? If so, what kind of paint or finish do we need to use?
Heres a link of some of the stuff, is this also a good site to buy from? www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/cs/dacron.html
