I am trying to optimize a design and I have few options.
Would it be more efficient to increase wetted area than create a new component which would create more or less perpendicular aerodynamic shape into the slipstream ?
Wetted area increase would create same stabilising effect than this component would.
Is there a rule of thumb to solve this...how much more can I have wetted area vs. new control surface area ? This is not related to pitch moment in this case.
Does this apply..it is closely related to the air speed ?
